I know I’ve mentioned before how much I love working with high school seniors.  But when I get to work with a senior I know really well, it’s even better.  I’ve gotten to know Jake over the years through working in the kids ministry at our church, playing on the worship team together, and watching him lead kids at our church’s homework club.  He’s not your average teenager. He’s passionate about music and leading worship, and is so great with children.  I was pretty excited to be asked to take his senior portraits.  We wondered around downtown the other night, and of course included his guitar in many of the pictures.  Here are a just a few of my favorites.  Can’t wait to deliver the full gallery to him and his parents!

  • Rachel & Kaylee | Orlando tween photography

Wow – has it really been since June since I blogged?!  It’s not for a lack of teen sessions thankfully.    I have lots to share from the last half of 2016 (still can’t believe it’s 2017!).  First up, these twin 7th graders who came all the way from Orlando for a tween session.   You know I love to capture hobbies, so they brought all kinds of fun props!  Rachel is a talented artist, Kaylee loves to read, and they both have a little bit of skater girl in them.  Oh – and they play instruments!  Hope you enjoy some of the highlights from their session!

  • Austin [Lakeland senior photography]

Graduation week….day 7.  Austin was the last senior I worked with in May.  We got a couple different looks at a local park, then drove over to his high school football field.  He’ll be playing football in college, so we definitely wanted to incorporate that into his senior portraits.  For a guy that “doesn’t like pictures”, he did really great. 🙂  I even told him he should model.  (hee-hee!).  Congrats Austin on your graduation last week!  So glad I got a chance to meet you and your mom before your big move up north.

  • Trevor [Lakeland senior photography]

Day 6 of graduation week!  This is Trevor.  I photographed Trevor’s brother a few years ago.  I always love it when I get the chance to then photograph younger siblings when they graduate.  Trevor is the strong, quiet type.  But I enjoyed the little bit of time I got to spend with him.  And I really enjoyed listening to him play guitar while I clicked away and spent time setting up my different lighting scenarios.  Congrats Trevor…by now you’ve probably officially graduated.  I wish you all the best in the fall.

  • Kaylea [Lakeland senior photography]

Graduation week – Day 5!  Meet Kaylea, another beautiful senior!  This girl graduated from Collegiate High School and will be attending FSU in the fall.  It had been a few years since last photographing her and her brother. So it was wonderful catching up with her and her mom.  I thought Kaylea had such great style…my favorite being her adorable MIcky Mouse t shirt at the end of the session.  I hope you have an amazing summer Kaylea!  I know you’ll do great in Tallahassee. 🙂

  • Kortney [Lakeland senior photography]

Graduation week, day 4!  It’s so exciting to think that by now, this girl has already graduated!!  I met with Kortney in April for her senior session.  She brought along her sister for a few of the shots as well.  Let me just say…she and her family were so fun to hang out with for the afternoon!  (Can’t wait for sister’s session next year!).  Kortney is such a beautiful girl.  I love that we were able to incorporate her cheerleading into some of the shots, as well as the fact that she’ll be attending FSU in the fall.  Go Noles!  (Don’t tell my hubby I just typed that….he is NOT a Florida State fan.) 🙂   Kortney, thanks for allowing me to capture these amazing images for you and your mom.  I hope you enjoy your summer and best of luck in the next couple of months!!

  • Caleb [Lakeland senior photography]

Day 3 of graduation week….meet Caleb.  This is seriously one of the most polite teenagers I’ve ever had the pleasure of hanging out with.  A lot of senior guys don’t really care for pictures, but Caleb was great about going along with everything I asked him to do.   He had two very unique parts to his senior session.  He’s really into video production/movie making, so we had the idea to shoot at the historic Polk Theater downtown.  What an amazing experience!  For the second part of his session we went to Florida Polytechnic where we got some casual images as well as a few Dr. Who inspired shots.  You couldn’t have asked for two more different venues for this guy, but I really love how both turned out.  My family just got home from his graduation party.  I am so excited for Caleb and his family as they venture into a whole new chapter in their lives…high school graduate and college!  Love you ‘P’ Family!2016-06-04_0001 2016-06-04_0002 2016-06-04_0003 2016-06-04_0004 2016-06-04_0005 2016-06-04_0006 2016-06-04_0007 2016-06-04_0008 2016-06-04_0009 2016-06-04_0010 2016-06-04_0011 2016-06-04_0012 2016-06-04_0013 2016-06-04_0014 2016-06-04_0015 2016-06-04_0016 2016-06-04_0017 2016-06-04_0018 2016-06-04_0019 2016-06-04_0020 2016-06-04_0021 2016-06-04_0022 2016-06-04_0023 2016-06-04_0024

  • Lexi [Lakeland senior photography]

Day 2 of graduation week….meet Lexi.  We explored an urban downtown area as well as a country setting, and she rocked both looks.  I had so much fun with this girl and her family that night!  Enjoy your weekend Lexi!!

  • Caitlyn [Lakeland Senior photography]

In honor of all the high school graduations happening this weekend, I wanted to take the next week to share all the crazy amazing senior sessions I’ve had over the past couple of months.  First up is a personal favorite of mine….miss Caitlyn.  Caitlyn has been our babysitter for the past couple of years.  She is such a great girl, and my kids love her just as much as I do!  When we started talking about her session at the beginning of the year, she mentioned that she always wanted to take pictures with the yellow flowers that bloom just a few days each March.  So when I saw that they were blooming – we coordinated a time to meet up and got the most beautiful images!  The second part of her session we did out at Florida Polytechnic University.  That place has some seriously cool and unique architecture, so I always enjoy shooting there. Caitlyn is a natural in front of the camera, so she made my job very easy.

Congratulations on your graduation Caitlyn!!!  I’m so excited for what the future holds for you.  Just promise you won’t forget us!  😉

  • Michaela [Lakeland teen dance photography]

Over the past year I have gotten the chance to photograph several middle school dancers.  These girls have blown me away with their leaps, jumps, and kicks!  Seriously.  They work so hard during these sessions so I can get “the shot”.  It’s amazing.  Michaela’s parents bought her a Real Me session in honor of her 13th birthday.  Michaela is a beautiful teen that I have been photographing for the past 7 or 8 years.  I think that’s what made this session extra special for me.  Not only is she an amazingly strong dancer, she’s simply a beautiful girl with a heart for God and a smile that’s contagious.   I love watching kids grow up….it’s a perk of my job that I truly cherish.

Now….enough of my yacking, here’s just a sample of the crazy good images we captured the night of her session.  Enjoy!
